Miscarriage
We knew you were coming
we were happy—and frightened.
One month later
here you are in my palm
I know it’s you,
and you are dead.
I cry with pain,
Your father holds me.
Then, to be sure,
we check
the biology textbook.
The fetus likeness,
and you
—
the same.
